Tom Peckford’s Fishing Stage
uilt ~ 1900s by Tom Peckford of Change Islands, the stage is rather unique with respect to its location - the building is located about 100' into the middle of a cove on a wharf-like foundation. The floor in the stage has been there for at least 60 year - it was the deck of a schooner that sank outside Bacellieu many years ago.

The building itself is a beautiful example of a traditional inshore fisherman premises where a variety of fishing activities was carried out - cod (traps, hook and line, and jigging); herring (nets); salmon (nets); lobster (traps); inshore sealing (4-5 miles on the drift ice); and associated support bait fishing.
