Sam Smart’s Wooden Fencing

am Smart's fence a typical of the kind of fence built on change Islands by the local fishermen from local building material. The existing fence is all that remains of the original fencing that surrounded the entire property. After Don Smart retired from fishing in the 1980s he removed some of the fencing on the west and south sides of the property and used the same fencing material to enclose a smaller area. The remaining fencing was in much need of repair and was restored in 2002 following the original design and style.
