The two-story building, the second largest in Change Islands, has a unique method of pulleys and cables allowing small punts and skiffs to be built on in the "top loft" and launched into the main tickle and hauled-up at the end of the fishing season. The stage remains just as he left it some years ago and contains numerous special creations and innovations (for the times) including a homemade forge and saw for making planks for boats of various types. It also contains a quantity of supplies for building boats and a beautiful example of an old "rodney', a small round-bottomed boat with a square stern, used chiefly as a tender.
