Atlantic Puffin

The Atlantic Puffin is the provincial bird of Newfoundland and Labrador. Some people call it the Sea Parrot or Baccalieu Bird. About 95% of all North America's puffins breed in colonies around the Newfoundland and Labrador coasts. The Atlantic common puffin of the auk family has a thickset duck-like body (black above and white below) with legs set far back on it, a short neck and a large, brightly colored, triangular beak. Puffins are very plentiful on Little Fogo Islands, north east of Fogo Island and Brimstone Head (generally recognized as one of the corners of the world by the members of the once popular Flat Earth Society). Each puffin is individually hand-crafted and may differ slightly from the photograph shown.
