Scarlet Tanagers are small, brightly coloured songbirds found only in the Americas. The male, in breeding plumage is scarlet with black wings and tail. The adult female has upper parts of an olive-yellow colour with dark wings. These small songbirds prefer deciduous woodlands but can also be found in pine or mixed woods.
