Small Harp Seal (Magnet or Pin)

Harp seals are found in the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans ranging from the Cara and Berents Seas to the waters surrounding Greenland and Newfoundland. Harp seals can grow as large as 2 meters in length and 180 kg in weight and are the most commercially important seal. Males are silver gray with black heads and black "harp-shaped" markings on their backs. Females are slightly smaller in size than males and are paler and have markings that are less distinct. At birth, the pups are covered with a long, fluffy white fur from which they derive their common name of "whitecoats." The small Harp Seal can be ordered as either a fridge magnet or a brooch. The fridge magnet is a very powerful (1.5 lbs. strength) rare earth magnet that is securely attached to the glass crab. The brooch has a pin bonded onto the back of the glass for attaching it to your clothing. Each seal is individually hand-crafted and may differ slightly from the photograph shown.
